During the SARS period, experts from the Institute of Viral Disease Prevention and Control of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention found that SARS virus can be killed by irradiating coronavirus with ultraviolet light of intensity greater than 90µW/cm2 for 30 minutes. The Diagnosis and Treatment Program for Pneumonia Infected by the New Coronavirus (Trial Fifth Edition) points out that the new coronavirus is sensitive to ultraviolet light. Recent studies have found that there is a correlation between the new coronavirus and the SARS coronavirus. Therefore, in theory, the scientific and rational use of ultraviolet light can effectively inactivate the coronavirus.
What is the principle of ultraviolet sterilization and disinfection?
Ultraviolet sterilization and disinfection is to use ultraviolet light of appropriate wavelength to destroy the molecular structure of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) or RNA (ribonucleic acid) in the cells of microorganisms, causing growth cell death and (or) regenerative cell death, so as to achieve the effect of sterilization and disinfection. Ultraviolet disinfection technology is based on modern epidemiology, medicine and photodynamics, using specially designed high-efficiency, high-intensity and long-life UVC band ultraviolet light to irradiate flowing water, directly killing various bacteria, viruses, parasites, algae and other pathogens in the water. Ultraviolet light needs to meet certain requirements to achieve effective sterilization and disinfection. Pay attention to the wavelength, irradiation dose and time of the ultraviolet light source. That is, it must be deep ultraviolet light in the UVC band with a wavelength below 280nm. Different bacteria and viruses must meet certain irradiation doses and time, otherwise they cannot be inactivated.
The old traditional technical solution uses mercury lamps to generate ultraviolet rays, and also produces ozone that is harmful to the human body. Ozone has a peculiar smell and is irritating to the human body. The ozone in the ultraviolet mercury lamp disinfection equipment comes from its chemical reaction under the excitation of oxygen in the air at its emission peak at 185nm. Of course, the fragile glass material is the reason why the mercury lamp tube is easy to break and there is a risk of heavy metal leakage.
Currently, the most widely used deep ultraviolet UVC-LED light source can emit pure ultraviolet rays in the wavelength band of 260nm~300nm. With the high-quality ultraviolet filters produced by Borisun Optics, it can replace the traditional mercury lamps in traditional ultraviolet sterilizers, without ozone and heavy metal leakage risks. At the same time, thanks to the characteristics of LED being small and easy to drive, deep ultraviolet UVC-LED can be arranged on multiple different surfaces of the sterilizer to achieve multi-angle irradiation of objects to complete more comprehensive sterilization.
Borisun Optics assists in epidemic prevention and control. It provides optical filters that meet the requirements of UVC ultraviolet sterilization for the current UV-C quartz glass ultraviolet sterilization solution. It mainly uses optical glass filters made of internationally common fused quartz materials to meet the technical requirements of most equipment on the market. It can filter out stray light very well and has high transmittance in the 265nm-300 nm band.
The main commonly used sizes at present are: 2.43x2.43x0.3mm 2.5x2.5x0.35mm 429x0.28mm, etc. The optical indicators of fused quartz material: 265nm-300 nm transmittance Tave>85%, and the required specifications and sizes can also be customized according to customer needs.
