The use scenarios of laser distance measurement filter solution in the civilian field are mostly used in engineering measurement, room construction distance measurement, civilian scene distance measurement, etc. Among the widely used optical filter solutions, 635nm is a widely used filter. It is mainly used after the LED laser emits a beam, after being processed and filtered by the 635nm narrow-band filter, another optical sensor element senses the reflected light, and then quickly calculates the actual distance.

635nm filter parameters:

Center wavelength: 635nm

Half-peak bandwidth: 10nm-50nm

Peak transmittance: >90% (or customized)

Cut-off wavelength: 200nm-1100nm (according to customer needs)

Cut-off depth: >OD4-OD6

Product material: first-class optical glass (K9, BK7, B270, D263T, quartz glass, colored glass, float glass, etc.)

Surface finish: surface finish national standard level 3, US military standard 40-20 (scratches/pitting)

Environmental test: MIL-STD-810F or fog test

The first one is the center wavelength, which is also the peak wavelength. Generally speaking, the higher the transmittance, the higher the production cost, but it is not necessarily the case. The filter used in the ultraviolet band for biological instruments does not require such a high transmittance.

The second is the cut-off depth of the bandpass filter. The better the cut-off depth is, the more it can shield the influence of clutter on the sensing components, which will allow the optical sensing components to respond to more accurate signals.

The third is the passband width. It cannot be said that the passband width is better than the narrow one. However, in general, in the bandpass filter, the higher the transmittance, the narrower the passband width, and the smaller the cut-off depth OD value. However, the production process and production cost of such a bandpass filter will also become high.
